The rarely performed Tennessee Williams drama The Two-Character Play officially opened at New World Stages on June 19 in an intimate new production directed by Gene David Kirk. Tony winner Amanda Plummer and Oscar nominee Brad Dourif star as touring actors and siblings who find themselves deserted by their acting troupe and faced with an audience expecting a performance. A knee injury to Plummer caused the production to cancel its preview performances on June 15, 16 and 17, but opening night went off without a hitch, followed by an after-party at NYC hotspot Lucky Cheng’s.
